About Me

I moved to Corvallis in 2003 and love my new hometown. I am originally from Ontario, Canada and have lived in Alberta, Quebec, New York, and Ohio. I love teaching English and have been at Ashbrook Independent School since 2010. I've attended McGill University (MA), Western Oregon University (MAT), and University at Buffalo (PhD). When I am not teaching I enjoy playing with my dog Leith (named after the city in Scotland), spending time with my family, reading, traveling, tennis, and hiking. During March to July of 2018, I took a leave from AIS to travel throughout Portugal, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Scotland, England and France. Please ask me about travels; I love to share my stories!

Ms. Gottlieb on the Fourth of July in Edinburgh, Scotland, 2016. It was COLD. The monument in the background is the Walter Scott monument; he wrote books like Waverley and Rob Roy in the 19th century. Even the train station in Ediburgh is named Waverley!

Ms. Gottlieb during July, 2017, in Winter Park Florida with English teachers from Virginia, Florida, Indiana, and South Carolina (photo on left). We were all at a one-week workshop to learn about the author Zora Neale Hurston at Rollins College. Teachers came from all over the USA.
